The Dutch team restricted the UAE cricket team to a total of 151 after the UAE team looked to post a total in excess of 170 in their encounter in qualifying match of the ICC World Twenty20 2014.
After losing two quick wickets at the start of the innings, UAE was cruising at 79/2 when TW Cooper took quick wickets in his first over sending the well set Khurram Khan and SP Patil to the pavilion. From then, the duo of Rohan Mustafa and Shaiman Anwar took over and didn’t allow the scoring rate to go down. After both of them got out (again in the same over of Van Der Gungsten this time), none of the other UAE batsmen could maintain the same tempo and they ultimately ended up short from the total that they looked like achieving at a point. They lost wickets in heap after that and were bowled out without playing the entire 20 overs.
It is not going to be an easy task for the Dutch to chase down this total due to the slow and low nature of the wicket. The UAE bowlers on the other hand would look to dismiss the Dutch batsmen as soon as possible and grab their first victory in the tournament.
Brief score: (UAE 151/10: Shaiman Anwar 32, Khurram khan 31. MA Jamil 3/16, TL Cooper 2/18)
