Kuldeep Pawar, veteran actor of Marathi and Hindi cinema, theatre and television, passed away in Mumbai on March 24 due to kidney failure. He was 64 years old. Pawar had been admitted to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri West, Mumbai.
Pawar was renowned for essaying every role with ease, whether it was the main lead in a film, a sinister villain or a comedian. He acted in several Marathi films in the classic golden era and also the new era of Marathi cinema, including movies such as Darodekhor, Navra Maaza Navsaacha, Shapit, Are Sansar Sansar, Sarja, Ekapeksha Ek, Vajir, Bin Kamacha Navra, Dhagala Lagli Kala, Jhaatyache Jaale, Mardaani, Sansar Paakhracha, Devashapath, Khara Khaasdaar and Shrinath Mhaskobacha Changabhala.
His TV shows included the popular Tu Tu Main Main, and Sansar, Aakrosh and Paramveer.
Pawar was also seen in Hindi movies such as Doodh Ka Karz and Jeet and had acted in Marathi theatre in plays like Ashroonchi Jhali Fule and Paakhru to name a few.
Pawar belonged to Kolhapur. His last rites will be conducted on March 25.
