Abhinav Bindra leads India men’s team to win bronze in 10m air rifle in Asian Games 2014
Abhinav Bindra, Ravi Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput scored 625.4-47x, 618.9-43x and 618.7-45x in the total of 1863.0-136x to finish third in the 10m Air Rifle Men's Team event.
In his last outing as the professional shooter, India’s lone Olympics individual gold medalist led the India men’s team to win the bronze medal in 10m Air Rifle Men’s Team event. This marked 5th medal in shooting so far for India in Incheon who are placed 13th in the medal standings with a total of 7 medals. Abhinav Bindra, Ravi Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput scored 1863.0-136x to finish third behind China and South Korea, who won gold and silver, respectively at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range here Tuesday. Abhinav Bindra, Ravi Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput scored 625.4-47x, 618.9-43x and 618.7-45x in the total of 1863.0-136x to finish third in the 10m Air Rifle Men’s Team event. While China hit a total score of 1886.4-158x points to take gold by CAO Yifei (630.7-54x), YANG Haoran (629.2-54x), LIU Tianyou (626.5-50x) and South Korean shooters KIM Sangdo(626.1-48x), KIM Hyeonjun (622.3-44x) and HAN Jinseop (619.2-44x) collected total 1867.6-136x points for the silver medal.
In the individual 10m Air Rifle Qualification phase, only Abhinav Bindra has qualified for the 10m Air Rifle finals after finishing fifth with 625.4-4x points at Ongnyeon International Shooting Range. The qualification was dominated by the Chinese shooters as India’s Ravid Kumar and Sanjeev Rajput finished a lowly 20th and 21st place finish.
