Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz India revealed that the company will launch 12 new models in India in 2016. This comes after the company success launched 15 new models in 2015. Today, the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift marks the company’s 12th and final launch for the year. The 2017 Mercedes CLA facelift is launched at a price of INR 31.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant while the top of the line model is priced at INR 34.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In addition to the new CLA facelift, the German carmaker has also launched the Mercedes-Benz CLA Road and Track Edition. The new CLA facelift comes with subtle design changes to its exteriors and interiors along with a few additional features. The new Mercedes CLA 2017 was launched at the New York International Auto Show in March 2016. The CLA has been a fairly successful model for the German carmaker in India and the new model is expected to continue with its legacy. The Mercedes-Benz CLA was launched in India in 2015 and barely a year into its launch, the company has decided to bring in the updated model, showing its commitment to the Indian market. Design changes on the new CLA facelift include a slightly redesigned front bumpers that is accentuated with a large diamond pin front grille along with the three pointed star placed at the centre. The car gets revised LED projector headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The side profile is largely untouched and continues to sport the purposeful character lines and sumptuous curves. The rear section gets revised LED taillights and nee rear bumper. On the interiors front, the new Mercedes CLA facelift comes with an updated cabin along with added features. Features list on the new CLA facelift include an all new 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car gets a new instrument cluster along with Active Brake Assist. Other features include a leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel, leather upholstery for seats, two-zone automatic climate control system, push button start/stop, keyless entry and the likes. Safety features include six airbags with Adaptive dual-stage front airbags ADAPTIVE BRAKE with Hill-Start Assist, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), ATTENTION ASSIST, Brake Assist (BAS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) and Acceleration skid control (ASR).
The India-spec Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift will continue to be powered by the same petrol and diesel engine options as that of the previous model. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine is capable of pumping out 181 BHP of maximum power along with 330 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the oil burner is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 134 BHP while developing 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission will be a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox on both the engine options.
