The Bajaj V12 is based on the V15 platform and shares its peripherals with the existing bike. As is the case with the V15, the new Bajaj V12 will get some amount of metal from the decommissioned INS Vikrant warship. Being a premium commuter under the iconic V brand, the new V12 will be positioned above the Discover 125 while both the bikes will coexist in the 125cc commuter segment. Bajaj Auto has announced that production for the V12 has already started while bike will reach dealerships by the first week of December. Ever since the Bajaj V15 was launched in India in February 2016, the company has sold over 1.6 lakh units of the bike in India. The bike will be offered with same set of color options as that of the V15 which include, white, ebony black, wine red and navy blue.
