Volkswagen, the German automotive giant, has unveiled the design sketches of its four-door fastback, the Volkswagen Arteon. Scheduled to be make its global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the VW Arteon will replace the Volkswagen Passat CC in its global portfolio. The Arteon fastback will be positioned above the Passat and the sketches gives way for the design of the car. According to the German carmaker, the design of the car displays a ‘striking layout and demonstrates dominance’. The design inspiration on the Volkswagen Arteon has been taken from the Volkswagen Sports Coupe Concept GTE that wad showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The Volkswagen Arteon is based on the company’s modular MQB platform that also underpins the Passat, Skoda Superb and the likes. The design of the Arteon is modern and futuristic to say the least. The Arteon fastback features a large horizontal front grille that is flanked by the new 3D LED headlights while the wide air intakes are placed lower below. The extra long side profile is accentuated by the fastback design of the car that gets a four-door layout along with a slopping roofline. The frameless windows and purposeful lines on the sides adds a sporty character to the car. The rear section sports wrap-around LED taillights, top-hinged tailgate and sporty rear bumper. Volkswagen has not revealed the interiors of the car yet. Also Read: Volkswagen Polo GT TDI To Get Updated 1.5L Engine, Spied
