Korean automotive giant, Hyundai Motor Company, unveiled the new 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 facelift earlier this year. The new Grand i10 facelift comes with subtle design changes to its front and rear, while the car remains similar otherwise. The car has been spotted testing in Chennai ahead of its India launch by early 2017. The new Hyundai Grand i10 facelift is based on the company’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy which is reminiscent of all the latest generation Hyundai cars in India. The Grand i10 has been the bestselling product for the Korean carmaker in the Indian market with over 13,000 units sold every month.
While the test mule is covered with camouflage on the front as well as rear, we have already seen the updated model during its global unveil. The front fascia of the new 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 sports a large chrome garnished hexagonal grille that is flanked by twin round auxiliary lamps on either side. The car gets sweptback headlamps and LED daytime running lights while the bumper is redesigned to accommodate the large grille. The side profile remains unchanged while the car gets new 14-inch alloy wheels. At the rear though, the car gets a new tailgate design along with redesigned rear bumper and taillights to compliment the looks. On the inside, the car will get updated cabin with new upholstery and additional features. Additional features will include automatic climate system along with a nee touch-screen infotainment system. As far as engine options are concerned, the new 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 will continue to be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel power-trains. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine that is tuned to extract 82 BHP of maximum power along with 114 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant gets a 1.1-litre iRDE diesel unit that churns out 70 BHP of maximum power and 160 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will come mated to the same 5-speed manual gearbox while the 4-Speed automatic transmission will continue to be offered as an option on the petrol variant.
The Hyundai Grand i10 2017 facelift is expected to be launched in India by Q1 2017 which shall be around February or March next year. The car is expected to be priced in the range of INR 4.94 lakh to 7.02 INR lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Grand i10 facelift will face competition from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift 2017, Honda Brio, Toyota Etios Liva and the Tata Bolt.
