The 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier in the year saw the introduction of a key product in the Maruti Suzuki stable: the Ignis compact crossover. With the year coming to a close, the Ignis is getting ready to make an entrance at Maruti’s premium Nexa showrooms in January 2017. The Ignis will be one of three major releases for Maruti Suzuki in the beginning of next year. It will spearhead the company’s push into India’s growing market of compact crossovers. At Nexa showrooms, the Ignis is set to be positioned as an entry-level model but do not expect the pricing to be low. Given its design, looks and specifications, the Ignis is likely to cost higher than potential competitors like the Mahindra KUV 100.
