The much awaited launch of the fifth generation Audi A4  for the global market and second generation for India will be finally launched in the country today. The new Audi A4 was first revealed in India earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new car is based on the Volkswagen MLB Evo platform and is lighter by 120 kg, compared to its predecessor. The fifth generation Audi A4 is all set to be launched in India shortly.

The new car comes with a curved bonnet followed by a single-frame trapezoidal grille and new headlights with matrix LEDs. The car gets it unique feature with new signature LED DRLs. Audi A4 has a functional 12.3-inch virtual cockpit display instead of its conventional set-up. The new display contains all details of the car from navigation to the infotainment system. The side profile gives a poised appearance with sharp LED tail lights. The new Audi Virtual Cockpit is the USP of A4’s cabin. It has HD display unit with all required information just in front of your eyes. Audi A4 comes in both petrol and diesel variant. A4 with the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine will be launched today while the diesel variant will be made available in the market later. The new motor replaces the 1.8-litre TFSI unit on the outgoing model. The new motor is tuned to produce 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. The new Audi A4 comes with a longer wheelbase compared to its predecessor. The new car comes is 12mm longer than the older version. The new Audi A4 will comes as a competition to Mercedes-Benz. The car also becomes one of the first models in the luxury car segment to use an engine as small as 1.4-litre turbocharged TFSI petrol unit. The price and other features of the car will be announced at the launch event today.
