Continuing its attempt to revamp its brand image in the country, Tata Motors, a home-grown auto major will be launching its third product of the year on March 29. Dubbed as Styleback by the company, the all-new TIGOR will be Tata’s third attempt into the sub-compact sedan segment. After showcasing it at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo as Kite 5 concept, Tata unveiled the sub4m sedan at 2017 Geneva International Motor Show alongside TAMO RaceMo and Tata Nexon sub-compact SUV. The sub-compact sedan is based on the same platform as that of Tiago – XO platform. The car maker has already initiated the bookings for the car ahead of its official launch with token amount of INR 5,000. Further strengthening its product portfolio in the sub-compact sedan segment, the sub-compact sedan is the third product which will be based on IMPACT design philosophy. The overall design of the sedan is emphasized through design elements such as sporty black bezel, sharp tail lamps, 3-dimensional headlamps with a smoked lens and the humanity line.
As far as the engine specs are concerned, the all-new Tigor will be borrowing the powerhouse options from Tiago hatchback – 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engines. The 1.2-litre petrol engine can produce 85ps and 114Nm of power figures meanwhile the 1.05-litre oil burner will develop max power of 70ps along with peak torque of 140Nm. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, the petrol as well as diesel variants will also be seen with multi-drive modes – Eco and City.
