Tata Motors, a well known homegrown automaker is all set to launch the all-new Tigor compact sedan in India tomorrow. The new Tigor will be introduced as a replacement for Indigo eCS wherein CS stands for compact sedan. It was Tata who pioneered the compact sedan space in India, however, with the introduction of Zest in the year 2014, the company began to lose its charm in the segment. But, this time around the story is expected to be different as the company is focusing more on the new design philosophy. Bookings Open: Followed by its unveiling at 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors took things further pretty quick by initiating the pre-bookings for the much anticipated sedan. The prospect buyers can pre-book the Tigor sedan with booking amount of INR 5000.
Platform: Tigor which is Tata Motors latest offering in the sub-compact sedan space, is also based on its popular XO platform that also forms the basis for Tiago hatchback. It will be based on IMPACT design philosophy that offers an ideal mixture of design, attitude and styling.
Engine Specifications: Like-wise Tiago hatchback, the all-new Tigor sedan will also be seen both petrol and diesel avatars. The petrol iteration will be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol mill while the diesel version will carry a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel unit. The petrol engine is tuned for developing 84bhp whereas the oil burner is capable of producing 69bhp. Both the power-houses will be mated to 5-speed manual transmission.
