Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda presented his first Rail Budget on Tuesday. The minister announced minimum new trains in the rail budget. He announced five new Jansadharan trains in the budget. The railway minister also announced measures to focus on cleanliness and issues of next gen bookings among others.
“Our target is to become largest freight carrier in the world,” said Sadananda Gowda in his maiden rail budget speech. The Rail Budget saw many new trains being introduced while few of the current trains got extensions. The budget proposed introduction of 58 new trains and extension for 11 existing trains. The new 58 new trains will include five Jansadharan trains, five Premium trains, six AC Express trains, 27 Express Trains, eight Passenger Trains, two MEMU and five DEMU services trains this year.

Ahmedabad– Darbhanga Jansadharan Express
Jaynagar–Mumbai Jansadharan Express
Mumbai–Gorakhpur Jansadharan Express
Anand Vihar (via Motihari)
Saharasa–Anand Vihar Jansadharan Express
Saharasa–Amritsar Jansadharan Express
