Given the confusion around linking of Aadhaar number with Universal account number (UAN), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation or EPFO has launched a facility through which you can check the status of Aadhaar seeded against your UAN and can figure out if there are any mismatch details.
For the convenience of members the facility is available at EPFO’s website www.epfindia.gov.in. To check the status go at >> Online Services >> e-KYC Portal>> TRACK eKYC.
Using the facility, you can online track the status of Aadhaar seeded against your UAN. For using the facility you need to have your UAN, which is mostly given in the salary slip provided by your company. After entering your UAN you can click the “Track eKYC” button and the exact status in respect of your UAN will be displayed on the screen.
UAN is a 12-digit portable number allotted to each EPF member which remains the same even when the employee changes the job.
Linking of Aadhaar with UAN helps in more ways than one. The most important is it helps in faster transfer and withdrawal of provident fund money. Consider this: when you join the new organisation you are asked to fill the the ‘Composite Declaration Form (F-11) where you give your UAN and previous PF number. Now when your present employer enters the information, and if your Aadhaar is already linked with UAN , your PF balance with the old company will get transferred automatically to the new company. Similarly, when you want to withdraw the PF balance after a waiting period of 2 months, you have to fill the claim form. However, you can have speedy settlement if your PF account is alreday linked with Aadhaar number.
Separately, EPFO has also launched the pensioner’s portal, https://mis.epfindia.gov.in/PensionPaymentEnquiry, by which all EPFO pensioners may get the details of pension related information like pension payment order number, pensioner’s payment order details, pensioner’s passbook information and other related information such as date of credit of pension, submission of pensioner’s life certificate etc.
One can also know the status of their life certificate, in case of non-submission/rejection of life certificate of the pensioners. It also provides the details and the reason of stoppage of pension.
