New Delhi, October 13: Big Bazaar, one of the leading supermarket chains from Future Group will offer Xiaomi smartphones for the first time. Big Bazaar, that has over 240 stores in India has partnered with Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi for its festive season sale. This is for the very first time that Xiaomi is expanding its offline sales by partnering with supermarkets like Big Bazaar. Under the festive offer, Xiaomi is also offering free EMI and also discounts for the customer using ICICI debit and credit cards. Xiaomi usually sells its devices through its own Mi stores and online through Flipkart and Amazon.
The tie-up was made public by head of India operations Manu Jain through social media posts. Xiaomi that has a vision of innovation for everyone has doubled the joy of users this Diwali as it will make available Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 across all Big Bazaar stores across India. With the latest partnership, Big Bazaar-which is a leading supermarket chain has made its entry back into the smartphone retail business after several years. Customers can purchase Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 at a special price starting at Rs 9,999. Xiaomi Redmi 4 has three variants with the price tag of Rs 6,999, Rs 8,999, and Rs 10,999. And, the Redmi Note 4 also has three variants at price of Rs 9,999, Rs 10,999, and Rs 12,999. Reports state that customers can also grab these smartphones through no-cost EMI offer in association with Bajaj Finserv.
Moreover, all ICICI Bank credit and debit card customers are eligible to get an additional 6% discount on these products. Sadashiv Nayak, CEO, Big Bazaar was quoted by reports saying, “We are extremely happy to partner with Xiaomi, as this will give us an opportunity to offer some more exciting products to all our consumers.”
Xiaomi India plans to bring its products to more than 1500 retail stores in 30 different cities by the end of 2017. The company claims due to the increasing demand of Xiaomi products, they are now expanding their logistics in an offline market like Big Bazaar. Xiaomi has already partnered with retail stores like Croma, Vijay Sales, and Sangeetha to extend its selling network.
