New Delhi, Mar 14: Honda began dispatch of its latest offering in the street motorcycle segment, the X-Blade 160 cc motorbike, today. The bike, that debuted at this year’s Auto Expo, comes with sleeker features. Priced at Rs 78,500, it is about Rs 4,000 cheaper than Honda’s base model of CB Hornet 160R, X-Blade built with the millenials in mind. Bookings for the bike had begun on February 14, a week after the Auto Expo. The bike has the same engine as that of CB Hornet which is mated to a five-speed gearbox.  Honda has been quoted as saying that the engine is meant to deliver at low and mid range.

The bike is equipped with all-LED headlights and taillights.  Borrowing from the CB Hornet, X-Blade comes with a fully digital console but this one also boasts of gear position indicator, service indicator and hazard lights. Honda engineers have given this bike narrower tyres and for braking, there is a disc brake in the front and a drum unit at the back.

The bike comes in five colours: Matt Marvel Blue Metallic, Matt Marshal Green Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matt Frozen Silver and Pearl Spartan Red. With X-Blade 160, Honda aims to take on soon-to-be launched TVS Apache RTR 160, Yamaha SZ-RR and the Hero Xtreme Sports.
