New Delhi, Oct 12: The central government has made linking PAN card with Aadhaar card mandatory. For that, you need to go to the Income Tax e-filing website and update your details. However, if the details don’t match, you have to update the PAN details. Here is how you can do that.
According to the NSDL website, applicants must fill PAN change form online and submit it. The rule applies to residents and non-resident Indians. The users can first select PAN change request. Then select the citizenship, the category of the card, title, and furnish other details of the form before submission.
A unique number will get generated and displayed to the applicant before filling the form. Users can select one of the four options.
- A person can download a form, affix photographs and send it to NSDL’s address along with relevant documents.
- A person can scan the photos and signatures, and send the relevant documents online.
- The applicant can upload scanned images, signature, and supporting documents. Upload Aadhaar card as a supporting document.
- Use Aadhaar based e-KYC option.
If there is an error in the details of the form, the submission will not be completed. Correct the errors and then submit the form again.
