Mumbai, May 24: IndiGo airlines has recently announced that it will be offering flight tickets across its network at Rs 11. The surprise move comes just as other low-cost airlines such as Spicejet and GoAir launched similar offers to attract passengers during the monsoon season.

The offer announced by IndiGo will last for six days and tickets for the same can be booked on the airline’s website from May 23 until May 28. The scheme is valid for a travel period from June 26, 2017, to March 24, 2018. However, any booking that is done under the offer will be non-refundable.

Flights under the scheme are non-stop and  can be availed  from Agartala, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam airports.

A similar scheme was launched by rival airline carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday. With a base fare of Rs 12, the offer was extended to celebrate the airline’s twelfth anniversary. The travel window for the scheme matches that of the one currently being offered by IndiGo. In order to ensure that passengers make a booking as soon as possible, the scheme will be applicable on a first come first serve basis.

Further, it is important to note that the ticket price of Rs 11 includes only the base fare. The company has also stated that the sale fares are not applicable for group bookings. IndiGo has the largest share in the domestic aviation market. With around 131 aircraft, the carrier operates to 39 domestic destinations and 7 international ones.
