Mumbai, September 12: The most anticipated iPhone X and iPhone 8 are set to be launched today at a special event in California. Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook will take the stage for the first time in the Steve Jobs Theater at its new campus. Marking the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Apple is set to announce a plethora of products that includes the Apple Watch 3, an Apple TV with 4K support, updated versions of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and more. The event is believed to 10 AM PDT which is 10.30 PM for people in India.
Speculation is rife that Apple is all set to break the tradition and release three phones tonight: the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. If that happens, this will be the first time that Apple will be launching three new iPhones at the same time at one event. These include the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. As per reports, the new devices are believed to function on the latest iOS 11 software enabled with new safety features, a ‘do not disturb while driving’ mode and emergency SOS option. As far as the camera is concerned, the iPhone 8 is rumored to have a dual-lens 12 MP camera capable of optical zoom and blurring the background of shots for a broken effect. Reports suggest that the iPhone 8 may also have a ‘SmartCam’ feature that can automatically recognize scenes and objects and adjust the camera settings to the optimal ones for shooting them.
iPhone has revolutionized the entire industry and has transformed Apple into one of the most profitable organizations. If reports are to be believed, the iPhone X is expected to feature a bezel-less design with an all glass back. iPhone X will be powered by an all new A11 processor and is set to come with 3GB of RAM, IP68 waterproofing, wireless charging and an updated 3D touch module.
The smartphone is expected to be offered in three colour variants at launch – White, Gold and Black. It is also believed to have a polished stainless steel metal frame and a vertical rear dual camera setup. Apple is expected to introduce a new feature in the iPhone X’s software called ‘Function Area’ in the home button’s place. This is believed to occupy the bottom of the smartphone’s display.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
While iPhone X is going to steal the limelight of tonight’s Apple event, there are two other iPhones that are expected to be announced at the grand event. Along with iPhone X, the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be succeeded by brand new models named iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Reports say these new phones will look the same as the existing models but will be upgraded with improved internals.
4K Apple TV and Apple Watch 3
Apple is also expected to unveil a third generation of the Apple Watch and a 4K Apple TV. The smartphone major is expected to announce a new generation of the Apple TV with 4K and HDR video support. The newly anticipated Apple TV is being touted to come with all new internals to power 4K video playback. The most rumoured Apple’s smartwatch is expected to be launched today at the grand Apple Event. If reports are to be believed, the Apple Watch 3 may come with LTE capabilities. Its design is expected to be similar to the current generation Watch.
