New Delhi, December 8: In a bid to counter Reliance Jio’s affordable JioPhone, India’s largest telecom operator, Bharti Airtel has announced a partnership with an Indian phone manufacturer- Intex for the launch of a smartphone. Both the firms jointly launched low budget smartphones under a joint initiative ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’. Under the scheme, the Intex Aqua Lions N1, a brand new 4G smartphone from the Intex stable will be available to Airtel customers at an effective price of just Rs 1,649. It has to be noted that the original price of the smartphone in the market is Rs 3,799.
“The Intex Aqua LIONS N1, a brand new 4G smartphone from the Intex stable, will be available to Airtel customers at an effective price of just Rs 1,649 (compared to the market price of Rs 3799),” Airtel said. The new Intex dual SIM 4G smartphone is powered by MTK chipset and comes with a 4″ full touch WVGA screen. The smartphone has a 2MP rear and front VGA camera. As far as storage is concerned, the phone comes with 1GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB.
As per reports, users wanting to get their hands over this phone are needed to make a down payment of Rs 3,149 for the Aqua Lions N1. The new smartphone comes with a monthly pack of Rs 169 from Airtel with exciting deals. It has to be noted that the user will have to make 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs 169 from Airtel. It is after 18 months that the customer will get a cash refund of Rs 500 and another Rs 1,000 after the completion of 36 months. With this, the total cash benefit to the user will sum up to Rs 1,500.
