New Delhi [India], Jan 11: India’s leading digital wallet and payments firm FreeCharge UrbanClap, India’s largest mobile services marketplace today announced their partnership for cashless payments across 97 service categories listed on UrbanClap.  With the partnership, FreeCharge customers can avail services like photographers, electricians, home cleaning and repairs, salon at home and several others across top eight cities in the country including Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.  In order to avail the service, once the customer books a service on UrbanClap, he will get an option to pay via Cash on Delivery or online after service completion.

The customer just needs to select pay online after completion and use FreeCharge to make the payment to UrbanClap once the service is completed.  “The services landscape in the country is pre-dominantly unstructured and thus relies heavily on cash payments. UrbanClap is doing great in bringing about structure to the sector and provides a massive opportunity for cashless transactions with these services and their payments going online. We envision this partnership playing a key role in moving towards a less cash society and hope it achieves the purpose,” said Chief Business Officer FreeCharge, Sudeep Tandon.

UrbanClap has more than one million unique users on its platform since its launch and has been witnessing online wallets emerge as preferred mode of payments with the ethos of going cashless gaining steam in India.  “We are excited to partner with FreeCharge towards this as they are leaders in the online wallet space having built a strong product and trust over the last few years,” said co-founder UrbanClap, Varun Khaitan.
