New Delhi, July 11: As Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan and Jio Summer Surprise offers are likely to end soon, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has now unveiled two news plans to woo its customers. The new entrant in the telecom sector-Reliance Jio has also introduced two new pre-paid plans of Rs 349 and Rs 399 each for its Prime members. Under the Rs 349 plan, users will get 20 GB of data for 56 days, while Rs 399 will get them 84 GB of data valid for 84 days.
With the new plans coming into effect, the prepaid plans of Rs 309, Rs 349 and Rs 509 will be having validity of 56 days. Similar changes have been made to the existing plans for postpaid users. The Rs 399 plan will be the only plan having a validity of 3 months whereas the other plans will be valid for 2 months. The Rs 349 prepaid plan will give 20 GB data for 54 days and the postpaid one will give the same data for 2 months.
As part of the Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan first time recharge plans, the Rs 509 plan which previously offered 2 GB daily data for 84 days, will now be giving 2 GB daily data to users up to 112 GB for 56 days. Similarly, the Rs 999 plan was earlier offering 120 GB data for 120 days and will now be providing users with 90 GB data for 90 days.
As per the company’s website, Jio has reduced validity and effective data offered under a revamped Rs 309 plan. The decision comes after Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer launched on April 11 reached the maximum allowed 90-day promotional period on July 9. According to information on the company’s website, Jio will now offer 56 GB of data for 56 days for Rs 309, which effectively means that pre-paid consumers will get 1GB data per day. Earlier, the pack was valid for 84 days for the same amount with 1 GB data per day.
The rival telcos have already been facing a tough time with Jio’s disruptive offers ever since its launch in September 2016. Jio had waged a data war in the telecom sector, forcing other telecom operators to slash their prices to retain their customers. “The move is largely on expected lines … It provides some breather (not relief) to the industry that has been reeling under the Jio promotion onslaught,” Kotak Securities was quoted by PTI. The new entrant has left no stone unturned in gaining a huge subscriber base in just 10 months of time. As per a recent data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio has added 3.9 million new users to its subscriber base in the month of April.
