Tata Motors launches Zest for Rs 4.64 lakh onwards
Tata Zest

Tata Motors has launched it new sedan, Tata Zest which is part of ‘HorizonNext’, a  consolidated philosophy that started 12 months ago with ‘DesigNext, ConnectNext and DriveNext’ being its three parts. DesignNext for Tata Motors started off with the Pixel and then the Megapixel concept cars. The Megapixel Concept Car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. The Zest is part of that philosophy; to create cars with focus has been on technology, products and styling.

It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants at 160 dealerships across the nation.

Here are the prices for all the variants for Zest.

The petrol variants will be powered by a Revotron 1.2T engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variant will be powered by a Quadrajet 1.3 engine. The design and technology have been put in place with the help of Jaguar Land Rover – Tata Motors owned British luxury marquee.

The Revotron is an all-new state-of-the-art 1193cc four-cylinder inline internal combustion motor with a liquid cooled turbocharger and sporting MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) induction. It is probably the most advanced petrol engine ever from an Indian carmaker but apart from just being dazzled by nationalistic fervour let me assure you that this motor is world class – plain and simple! Making use of a turbocharger has been a trick yet clever move to help bump up volumetric efficiency and give it not just class leading power (90 PS @ 5000 rpm) but a whopping 140 Nm of torque over a wide engine speed band that stretches from 1750 to 3500 rpm.
