New Delhi, November 13: Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi on Monday announced a permanent Rs 1,000 price cut on its best-selling phone- the Redmi Note 4 in India. With the latest revision, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3G variant price in India now starts at Rs 9,999 which was earlier priced at Rs 10,999 while the 4GB variant will cost Rs 11,999 against its original price of Rs 12,999. This means, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3GB RAM, 32GB storage version will be available for Rs 9,999 while the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage version will be available for Rs 11,999.
Manu Kumar Jain, VP of Xiaomi India tweeted, “We are announcing a permanent price drop of Rs. 1,000 on India’s #1 selling smartphone: #RedmiNote4 [sic]”. It has to be noted that the offer seems to be applicable only for online purchases, via Flipkart and Mi.com/in.
E-commerce major Flipkart is also offering its customers with exchange offers on their existing models. Customers can get an exchange worth Rs 11,000. Axis Bank Buzz credit cards holders are also eligible to get a five percent discount. As per reports, Flipkart is also offering no-cost EMI options to sell the handset at a monthly installment of Rs. 2,000.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer- Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in India in January and the smartphone became No. 1 selling the smartphone in Q1 & Q2. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 2.5D Curved Glass. It runs on Android Nougat and features a 13-megapixel camera sensor at the back and a 5-megapixel camera sensor at the front.
