Many local, regional and international events related to the theme of the year are organized by the WHO, which has a total of eight official global health campaigns. Each year, officials select a theme for the World Health Day and some of the past themes included Healthy heart beat, Healthy blood pressure, Vector-borne diseases: small bite, big threat, Food safety and Halt the rise: Beat diabetes. This year, the theme for the day is Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere.
