The world was still coming to terms with the allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual abuse and harassment when another shock came rocking the boat and this time it is the Indian fans that were affected. Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie came out with their own horrid experience with the film producer and soon Cara Delevingne divulged a few shocking details. Rose McGowan who have been up in arms against Harvey Weinstein, as well as Ben Affleck, got penalized by Twitter and her account was suspended for a few hours following which a Twitter boycott was initiated by the women. Since morning #WomenBoycottTwitter has been trending and now when things were coming back to normalcy another big bombshell was dropped. Cara Delevingne had divulged details about her ordeal on Instagram when she has just started working in the show business. Her confession got a lot of support from online media houses but a shocking revelation surfaced on the comments section of a Variety report, a revelation made by talent manager Simone Sheffield who managed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Hollywood work. Apparently, Harvey Weinstein was desperate to meet the former Miss World alone.

Simone Sheffield is a talent manager who used to manage Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s work and career in Hollywood. She wrote a rather descriptive and shocking revelation in the comments section of the Variety report about Harvey Weinstein and his apparent obsession over Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The Variety report was about Cara Delevingne’s recount of the horrendous incidents she had with Harvey Weinstein. She shared her ordeal in this Instagram post. Rose McGowan’s Twitter Account Suspended After She Speaks Out Against Harvey Weinstein And Ben Affleck

When I first started to work as an actress, i was working on a film and I received a call from‎ Harvey Weinstein asking if I had slept with any of the women I was seen out with in the media. It was a very odd and uncomfortable call….i answered none of his questions and hurried off the phone but before I hung up, he said to me that If I was gay or decided to be with a woman especially in public that I’d never get the role of a straight woman or make it as an actress in Hollywood. A year or two later, I went to a meeting with him in the lobby of a hotel with a director about an upcoming film. The director left the meeting and Harvey asked me to stay and chat with him. As soon as we were alone he began to brag about all the actresses he had slept with and how he had made their careers and spoke about other inappropriate things of a sexual nature. He then invited me to his room. I quickly declined and asked his assistant if my car was outside. She said it wasn’t and wouldn’t be for a bit and I should go to his room. At that moment I felt very powerless and scared but didn’t want to act that way hoping that I was wrong about the situation. When I arrived I was relieved to find another woman in his room and thought immediately I was safe. He asked us to kiss and she began some sort of advances upon his direction. I swiftly got up and asked him if he knew that I could sing. And I began to sing….i thought it would make the situation better….more professional….like an audition….i was so nervous. After singing I said again that I had to leave. He walked me to the door and stood in front of it and tried to kiss me on the lips. I stopped him and managed to get out of the room. I still got the part for the film and always thought that he gave it to me because of what happened. Since then I felt awful that I did the movie. I felt like I didn’t deserve the part. I was so hesitant about speaking out….I didn’t want to hurt his family. I felt guilty as if I did something wrong. I was also terrified that this sort of thing had happened to so many women I know but no one had said anything because of fear.

Simone Sheffield wrote, “I use to manage Indian actress Aishwarya Rai. While dealing with Harvey I found it comical how hard he tried to get Aishwarya alone. But he was a pig… looked and acted like a “big bully pig”….He asked me to leave the meeting numerous times and I politely declined. When we were leaving his office he cornered me and said: “what do I have to do to get her alone?” I told him to “kiss my black ass”. When Ash and I returned to our hotel, I sent Harvey a steel pig trough filled with DIET COKE as a thank you gift for the meeting. Yes, we did do business and Yes, he eventually threatened me. Told me I’d never work in this business, blah blah blah….what I said to him I can’t print. But you can be sure, I never gave him the opportunity to even breathe on my client. Fox News. Weinstein. The President.

She added, “Such abuses have gone on way before these creeps and will sadly continue until women feel empowered and protected enough to speak out. They say there’s strength in numbers…perhaps. BUT it takes only one brave soul to take the first stand. With social media as your platform, that one brave soul will lead an army, in no time. Brava Ladies….don’t hold back – THE TRUTH. Protect one another. Support one another. Love one another.” #WomenBoycottTwitter Trends After Twitter Suspends Actress Rose McGowan’s Account For Tweeting Sexual Allegations

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has not made any comments or remarks about the incident or the statement but it feels heartening to know that women in show business are looking out for each other and there are women like Simone Sheffield who take the brickbats and name calling but save their clients a whole lot of trauma and abuse at the hands of such perverted men who wield power.
