In a bizarre incident in Delhi, an angry Ola cab driver drove for about 500 meters with a passenger stuck in the bonnet of his car from Indira Gandhi Airport’s domestic terminal. The incident took place on April 2 when the passenger had arrived from Port Blair on a SpiceJet flight around 5pm and booked the cab from the domestic terminal. The man arrived with his family (wife and three children) and the cabby didn’t allow him to put luggage in car’s boot, which resulted in an argument. So the Ola driver canceled the trip.
The passenger was adamant and to make his point, he sat on the bonnet of the vehicle after the heated argument with the driver. The driver, however, sped away with the passenger balanced on the bonnet of the car. The police chased the cab and arrested the driver from about 500 meters.
According to the police, “The passenger is a staff of Sashastra Seema Bal, who sat on the bonnet to stop the driver. He fell and sustained injuries so was taken to AIIMS for treatment.”
The statement of passenger’s wife stated that her husband booked an Ola cab and the driver reached the pickup spot. Her husband had an argument with the driver over the issue of putting luggage in the car’s boot. The driver asked them not to put luggage in the boot as there wasn’t sufficient space due to the CNG cylinder. The driver then canceled the ride and tried to leave but the man came in front of the car.
The driver now has been arrested.
