In response to it, Stephen Colbert invited his friend comedian Jon Stewart on the show. Talking on the Late Show, Stephen Colbert said, “First of all, ‘unfunny’ in quotes? Which means you think we’re funny? In which case I want to say, ‘thank you?'” he added. Responding to Trump’s demand for “equal time”. Colbert said that in order to please the president, Stewart would deliver his “usual unfair slamming of the president” and he would “provide the counterweight.” So whenever Colbert joked about Trump’s desire for “equal time” Stewart would just say, “Donald Trump is not a cannibal”. However, Stewart couldn’t stop himself when the host mentioned Trump’s mysterious “calm before the storm” comment, made among senior military leaders. Commenting on which, he also said, “And what kind of sociopath would use that terminology while people are still literally cleaning up from storms?”
