After the International Women’s Day Google doodle video that had Indian faces like legendary Bollywood playback singer Asha Bhosle and Olympian boxer M C Mary Kom, the search engine giant has on display a special doodle for the Indian festival of colours, Holi.
The Holi doodle is on display on Google’s homepage for the past two days. It shows a pencil crayon like pichkari (spray gun) that is splashing colours like the pink gulaal, purple, blue, yellow and green – similar to the colours of Google.
But we would have liked the Holi Google doodle to be interactive like some of the other doodle’s of the search engine company. It would’ve been fun to play a little game of splashing some colour online, right?
Google has been making India-specific doodles for many years now, with recent important ones including Shakuntala Devi and festival doodles. Holi doodles appeared earlier in 2001, 2010 and 2011.
