A record total of 25,578 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the eighth edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS).
One name which kept buzzing in the 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is that of Harshwardhan Zala. The 14-year-old child prodigy signed Rs 5-crore deal with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat. Harshwardhan Zala signed the agreement to facilitate the production of drones which will help detect and defuse land mines on war fields. The Gujarat teen, currently studying in class 10 is Twitterati’ new favourite. The boy’s incredible run at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 led to ‘Rs 5’ trend on Twitter. The Government of Gujarat has organised the 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, between 10th and 13th of January, 2017 with the central focus of the Summit being “Sustainable Economic and Social Development”. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 witnessed great young business leaders like Harshwardhan Zala, a class 10 student.
Children at Harshwardhan Zala’s age are engrossed with the upcoming board exams, but the smart boy created a buzz when he signed a whopping Rs 5 crore deal on Thursday. Zala has been working on his business plan and made three prototypes of the drone which cost the boy roughly Rs 5 lakh. He started the work on landmine-detecting drone prototype in 2016.

Zala said, “The inspiration struck when I was watching television and learned that a large number of soldiers succumb to injuries sustained due to landmine blasts while defusing them manually.” The 14-year-old further added, “The drone has been equipped with infrared, RGB sensor and thermal meter along with a 21-megapixel camera with a mechanical shutter that can take high-resolution pictures as well.”

Explaining more about the drone, the zealous 14-year-old said, “The drone is designed to send out waves that cover eight sq. mt area while flying two feet above the surface; the waves detect land mines and communicate their location with a base station. The drone also carries a bomb weighing 50 gram that can be used to destroy the landmine.” Harshwardhan Zala’s proud father Pradhyumansinh is an accountant with a plastic company in Naroda, and his mother Nishaba is a homemaker.
