India’s first fashion week, India Intimate Fashion Week (IIFW) will be held from March 18 to 19, 2017, in Mumbai. The first edition of the intimate wear will bring together leading Indian and international lingerie brands and designers and set up a major platform for intimate wear. The event will also witness lingerie stylists, experts, e-commerce and intimate wear bloggers. IIFW India Official also tweeted about the event saying, ” India Intimate Fashion Week, India’s 1st Fashion Week For #Lingerie, #InnerWear Sleep Wears & Lingerie #E-Commerce.” Illustrious jewellery designer Mona Shroff will showcase her edition with 2017 collection, becoming one of the first luxury brands to present alongside top designers. She is engaging with the fashion week to break the stereotype about intimate wear.

Niraj Jawanjal, Director and Founder of IIFW, said in a statement, “Intimate wear, such a big sector, rather world’s largest sector, deeply rooted in every person’s life across the globe is still unexplored in India. However, India is now opening up to all kinds of evolution, revolutions, entrepreneurship and experiments on fashion.” He further said, “Through India Intimate Fashion Week, we will also recognise and honour industry leaders from the intimate wear category with India Intimate Awards, some of who will also be part of the jury of India’s first initiative.” Here is what they tweeted:

Amit Pandey, Media Head and Associate Partner, IIFW told Economic Times, “With IIFW, we intend to plug this need gap and drive engagement, high decibel idea exchange, and conversation amongst all potential stakeholders – Brands, customers and designers.” The platform will be a platform for brands which also produces sleep wear, leg wear, men’s underwear, personal care products among other products.
