Already considered as the battle of big teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will leave no stone unturned to emerge winners. CSK and RR are placed currently on second and third position respectively. As two teams fight it out in the first of double header we take a look at five players who can possibly lit up match number 37.

Dwayne Smith (Chennai Super Kings)

CSK coach Stephen Fleming believes that Dwayne Smith when playing for Mumbai Indians hurt CSK so much that they decided to buy him at the February auctions and the move has paid off. Smith has been amongst the runs this season too and his attacking nature puts opposition on the back foot early on. He has scored 396 runs and is one big innings away from snatching orange cap back from the Aussie sensation Glenn Maxwell.

Mohit Sharma (Chennai Super Kings)

If Dwayne Smith is within reach of retaining the Orange cap another CSKian is couple of wickets away from holding on to the Purple cap. Mohit Sharma at 15 wickets is three away from the title of highest wicket taker. Mohit has picked wickets at an average of 16.20 and has been Dhoni’s go-to man.

Ajinkya Rahane (Rajasthan Royals)

Most of the Indian batsmen have floundered to score heavily and have not been consistent as well. Ajinkya Rahane has been sailing in the same boat, he has scored 248 runs with two half-centuries. Rahane has a chance to break into the list of top 10 run-getters this season as he is just 15 runs short of Aaron Finch’s 263 who is at 10th place.

Pravin Tambe (Rajasthan Royals)

When CSK and RR take field Mohit Sharma won’t be the only contender for the Purple cap. Pravin Tambe is one wicket behind Mohit at 14 and needs 4 more wickets to get his hands on the cap which he is highly capable of. Tambe already has a four wicket-haul this season under his belt and will be looking to fetch one more, another hat-trick will be an icing on the cake.

Dark Horse: Shane Watson (Rajasthan Royals)

Shane Watson finds himself beyond the role of an all-rounder in IPL as he leads the team as well. Just like his predecessors (Shane Warne & Rahul Dravid) he has led team from the front. He has also taken up the role of a seamer thus allowing RR to play an extra spinner at times and also strengthens the RR batting.
