Bollywood is currently mourning the death of one of the most popular director from the film industry. Filmmaker Kundan Shah who directed and won the National Award for the cult black comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, died today. He was 69-years-old and he died in his sleep early in the morning after suffering a heart attack on Saturday at his Mumbai residence. Shah’s relative confirmed that he dies in his sleep early in the morning, following which condolences started pouring in from many popular Bollywood personalities.

Filmmaker Kundan Shah also ventured into the television industry after directing his first movie. He gave some really interesting and popular television shows such as Nukkad, Wagle Ki Duniya and Manoranjan.

After directing many television serials, Shah made a comeback in the film industry after a huge gap of seven years and gave everyone a popular romance drama to remeber by; Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa starring Shah Rukh Khan. Shah won the Filmfare Critics Award for this movie.

But later none of the movies which released after the ear 2000, fared well at the box office. His last movie P Se PM Tak was released in the year 2015. Had he been alive, Shah would have turned 70 on October 19.
