Telegu actress, Sri Reddy is currently in the news for stripping and staging a protest at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad demanding ‘MAA’ membership and chances for Telugu actresses in the films. The TV presenter-turned-actress, who has been making sensational allegations against casting couch menace in the Telegu film industry, has also shared her WhatsApp chats with some celebrities on her social media handles and also said that she would post some videos in future.
However, today, reacting to Sri Reddy’s demonstration, Sivaji Raja, representing Movie Artist Association (MAA), was quoted as saying, ‘“Sri Reddy’s incident is disturbing. MAA rejected Sri Reddy’s membership application and none of the 900 members in MAA will support or act with her. He remarked Sri Reddy is telling lies and doing drama for the sake of publicity. He also warned, if anyone supports or tries to take her stand, MAA will boycott them also from MAA.’’
On April 7, post staging the nude protest, Sri Reddy was detained by the Banjara Hills Police for causing a public nuisance. During the protest, she alleged that local talent and Telugu heroines were not being given chances while heroines from other languages were being roped in. Sri also alleged that MAA membership was not given to her.
When asked about the reason behind the protest, Sri Reddy said she staged the protest to join the Movie Artist Association (MAA). “I have done three Telugu films and are why they not giving membership to me,” asked Sri Reddy. The aspiring actress also claimed actresses from Andhra are not getting enough work in Telugu films.
It is not the first time Sri Reddy has done something like this. In the past, the aspiring actress was open in commenting and ranting about the casting couch in Tollywood. She had reportedly accused renowned directors, producers and male actors of taking advantage of young actresses seeking work in the industry.
