The gorgeous actress had made a successful Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai’s romantic-drama movie. But two decades later, Mahima Chaudhry is not even remotely close to her famous desi avatar of Ganga. The 44-year-old star was recently clicked in Mumbai and she was barely recognizable. Her latest outing has turned Mahima Chaudhry into a viral sensation with fans curious to see her shocking transformation from fit to fat. Mahima recently celebrated her birthday on September 13. The actress was clicked in Mumbai and the photographs got everyone curious about how much has the female star changed since her Bollywood debut two decades ago. Wearing a black cold shoulder top short dress with her hair left loose, Mahima could hardly be recognized in these snaps. It is the same actress who was noticed by veteran filmmaker, Subhash Ghai for his blockbuster film, Pardes.
The actress had made her acting debut at the age of 24 in 1997 film Pardes opposite Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Mahima Chaudhry’s portrayal of a village belle named Ganga who is engaged to a rich and spoilt NRI but finally crosses all hurdles to be with her true love earned her rave reviews. She had won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and was also nominated in the Best Actress category. Despite a successful beginning in the film industry, the actress could not capitalize the advantage. Nevertheless, Mahima has successful films such as Daag, Dhadkan, Dil Kya Kare, Baghban, etc to her credit as a supporting actress.
She was last seen on the silver screen in 2016 film Dark Chocolate. The actress played the role of Ishani Banerjee, a character based on media baron Indrani Mukherjea. Dark Chocolate was based on real-life murder mystery of Sheena Bora. On the personal front, Mahima Chaudhry was in news for dating Indian tennis star, Leander Paes. They dated for eight years before splitting after Paes began an affair with a socialite, Rhea Pillai. Mahima moved on in life and married businessman Bobby Mukherjee but unfortunately, their relationship ended in a divorce in 2013. At present, Mahima is happily taking care of the couple’s child, a daughter named Ariana as a single parent.
