NCC enters Limca Book of Records for Largest Yoga Performance on International Yoga Day

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has entered the Limca Book of Records for the Largest Yoga Performance ever. The NCC was presented with a certificate by the Limca Book of Records for the performance, which was the biggest held simultaneously by a single uniformed youth organisation, and at 1,767 locations. The certificate was presented by Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca Book of Records to Lieutenant General A Chakravarty in the presence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

The feat was achieved by the NCC on the occasion International Day of Yoga (International Yoga Day) on June 21, 2015. It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had asked the NCC to start preparations to break such a record. He had made the appeal to the cadets during his address at the NCC Rally on January 28, 2015. The NCC created this record with the participation 9,50,210 cadets.
