Sushma Swaraj is known for being the coolest Union Minister in Narendra Modi-led government. The hard working minister has provided help and aid to anyone who needs it, even from a hospital bed when she was undergoing the kidney surgery. However the External Affairs Minister was outraged by Amazon Canada’s decision of selling Indian flag themed doormat. This particular incident when brought to Sushma Swaraj’s notice by a certain Twitter users, she immediately got down to take serious action.
The lady boss demanded that the e-commerce giant takes the controversial product of highly offensive in nature of their site and also asked for a formal apology. This demand was made in a series of tweets by Swaraj in which expressed her anger. Sushma Swaraj has clearly mentioned that if Amazon fails to remove the products insulting the national flag from their site and issue a tender apology, the Indian government will not issue the visa to Amazon employees. And now the common man is also joining the righteous leader in teaching Amazon a harsh lesson for a lifetime. They are beginning with an online campaign against the company by starting a petition to withdraw the products.
The petition on Change.Org reads: Amazon.ca should remove doormats with India flag on them. The complete description of request is – Amazon.ca (Canada) is currently selling doormats which have India’s tricoloured flag on them on behalf of a seller. This is clearly an insult to 1.25+ billion Indians living across the world. This petition aims to start a campaign to force Amazon.ca to apologize and remove such products from their catalog. Amazon.com too had a similar product but that has been taken down. However Canada site still has a listing. We demand that Amazon in future puts more stringent measures before allowing sellers to list products on their marketplace. High time, Amazon, please do thorough research before promoting any insensitive product. It will help you stop looking like an offensive prick!
