Police these days are using hilarious methods to spread awareness. To convince the youth of Vadodara to not break traffic rules and to stop a thousand traffic violations, the Vadodara police has taken a trending route by using ‘winking girl’ Priya Prakash Varrier in their traffic safety poster. The Vadodara police is running a creative campaign on social media to raise awareness on safe driving using Malayalam actor Priya Prakash Varrier’s famous wink. The police have come out with a funny traffic safety poster featuring Priya Prakash Varrier with the tagline, “Accidents happen in the wink of an eye: drive carefully, without distraction” in a bid to keep the drivers alert on the roads. The posters have been put up on the roads at various places in the city.
Earlier, Mumbai police and the Bengaluru police also started creative campaigns in a bid to spread messages to the youth. Many campaigns of the two cities police have gone viral in the past including ones on drinking and driving, cybercrime, women’s safety etc. The Vadodara police are also managing a Twitter handle @Vadcitypolice to connect with the youth. Other Taglines being used by them include, “Sometimes sharing is not caring: Never share your passwords with anyone. NeverEver.” And popular Hashtags also have been included like #SarkariMehman or #LetsCatchUp.
