Rs 1000 new note specimen picture is viral: Is this how the new currency note looks like?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shocked everyone when he announced the demonetisation of old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, making them illegal since the midnight of November 8, 2016. Since that night, images of the new currency notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 went viral. Those were specimen images probably leaked by the government itself, to distract people from the chaos of demonetisation. When the new notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 were introduced, we all flashed them on social media, and the notes indeed looked like the specimens. So, now we share with you the specimen of the new Rs 1000 note that will soon be in currency – take a look!

The photo of the new Rs 1000 note shows that it is bluish grey like the Rs 500 note, and longer and narrower like the new Rs 2000 note. We kinda miss the old Rs 1000 note for its peach shade (or light pink)! But the new Rs 2000 note, which is pink or purple is something we are still getting used to. It is kinda weird, but we shall get used to holding it! (We said holding, not hoarding.)

Every day since November 8, people have been standing in serpentine queues at banks and post offices to exchange old notes, which were allowed over the counter at medical shops, train stations as well as hospitals and clinics only. From December 2, you will not be able to exchange your old notes at either of these places, as people have now begun hoarding the new currency notes! You can now only then deposit the old currency in the bank, for which you have to furnish your valid identification every time, plus stand in the queue! ALSO READ: Demonetisation effect: Hilarious video of Bankers Before and After Demonetisation (Watch video)

But seeing this new note of Rs 1000, there will be new curiosity at the automated teller machines (ATMs) to have it in our hands. It will also make things easier for the common man, who found it extremely difficult to find change of Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 20 and Rs 10 in exchange of the new note of Rs 2000 that was mostly being given out at banks and ATMs!
