A Uttar Pradesh man has gained popularity for his bizarre ability to eat and produce electricity. Naresh Kumar who is known as ‘Human Light Bulb’ says that he can let electric current flow through his body and does not feel the shock on touching live wires. In fact, the 42-year-old claims to simply plug himself to live wires when he is hungry which makes him satisfied after 30 minutes. Kumar who hails from Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh says that he found out his talent after he accidentally touched live wire at work and did not feel the shock. Since then he has been obsessed with electric wires are tries them regularly.

Cover Asia Press quoted Naresh Kumar as saying, “I can touch any electrical appliance like a television, washing machine, fridge, and an inverter with my bare hands and it doesn’t affect me. In fact, it helps my energy levels. I think about 80 per cent of my body is composed of electricity now.” However, his wife who is not impressed by Naresh talents says, “There are no switches, and sometimes my children and I fear we’ll get an electric shock. But because he’s obsessed with touching naked wires they are left like this. He even uses his bare hands to switch different appliances on and off.” Pak man eats leaves for 25 years, never falls ill

Naresh further said, ““Whenever I feel hungry and there’s no food in the house I hold naked wires and within half an hour I’m satisfied. I eat electricity like it’s food.” It is not scientifically proved why the body can hold the electric current. There have been cases of ‘human light bulbs’ in the past too where in it was claimed to be the lack of sweat glands, however, it has not been confirmed. Naresh Kumar is employed at a government hospital helping doctors during post mortems.
