John Oliver has come with a funny video of his observations of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2014 in India.
The comedian is surprised at the western world’s ignorance about the Indian elections. He says, “The Indian elections are not even that complicated – just like in American elections…it comes down to two people – ” A reporter continues, against the backdrop of Mumbai’s famous Victoria Terminus (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus), “There are only two key people – Rahul Gandhi from the Congress and Narendra Modi from the BJP.
Calling Rahul Gandhi “handsome” and “total political package – he’s got good looks, he’s from a family of three former prime ministers and he’s got that vest….”, he makes fun of Gandhi without seeming so. “But,” he says, “he is expected to lose the elections to this guy…”, after which a showreel for Modi plays out.
John Oliver goes on to observe the daily Indian media debates, especially those of Times Now‘s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, and compares them to FOX News‘ Bill O’Reilly. Watch the John Oliver video below!
