Terrorist group Al-Qaeda‘s division Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), infamous as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has now changed its name to just Islamic State (IS). The sub-group of jihadists has been causing havoc in Iraq and Syria for the past month.
In another violent act on Sunday, June 29, the ISIS crucified nine rebels in Syria who were fighting them as well as going against President Bashar al-Assad. The dead bodies will be on display for three days at the main square where they were killed, say reports.
Moreover, keeping in mind the objectives of Al-Qaeda, the ISIS ‘established’ a new Islamic caliphate, announcing their chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as the new ‘Caliph’ and are now self-proclaimed leaders Muslims all over the world.
