YouTube is one of the most favourite video platforms for almost everyone. But, did you ever imagine that the same video sharing service will be able to find a lost man. Yes! You read it right. An ex-rifleman who had vanished from Imphal, Manipur was traced to Bandra last week, all thanks to a video of him singing an old Hindi film song that was uploaded on YouTube by a Bollywood fashion designer.

Khomdram Gambhir Singh, who served in the Manipur Rifles, left his Imphal home in 1978, and since then his family members had not heard of him. However, much to Singh’s family’s relief, he has now been traced in Bandra, Mumbai. According to a report from a leading daily, it was a YouTube video of Singh singing an old Hindi film song that was shown by an acquaintance to his family.

In the video clip, the 70-year-old man can be seen wandering on Bazaar road, which fashion designer Firoze Shakir recorded on October 17, 2017. Singh’s family contacted the Pastol police in Imphal, who sought Bandra Police’ assistance in locating him. After getting located, Singh has been sent to a shelter home in Virar.

The fashion designer who uploaded the video told a leading daily by working odd jobs and singing on the streets. According to a report, the Bandra police said Imphal cops sent them a photograph of a young Singh for identification, that led the Bandra Police to track him down to the Bandra railway station and photographed him. The photos were then sent back to the Imphal police, who approached Singh’s family and give them the good news that he has been found.
