England will go in as favourites against West Indies as both teams will lock horns in a five-match One-Day Internationals (ODIs). England have had such a fresh and strong look in ODI cricket in recent times that they just need to play the way they have been doing which is both with flair and panache.
Looking at the ODI format, Eoin Morgan is leading England and Jason Holder is the man captaining West Indies. There is no doubt that the shorter the format, the more dangerous West Indies become.
But that is not saying a lot about their class. Because West Indies are both weak in skill and temperament, they get caught in the longer formats of the game, Test cricket and ODIs. They did not play well in any of the ODI World Cups in recent decades.
It is interesting that both captains, Morgan and Holder, have the chance to lead in two formats. Morgan leads in ODIs and T20Is and Holder is the captain in Tests and ODIs.
So there is a bit on their plate but there is no doubt that West Indies will not be complete pushovers. Especially, after having won one of the Tests and one-off T20I.
