Hyderabad, April 9: AP Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) 2018 is all set to conduct its first ever online examination starting May 2. The examination which will be conducted from May 2 to May 7, will be conducted in two slots- morning and evening on all the days. Over 2 lakh candidates have applied for EAMCET this year which will be conducted in 18 test centres in Telangana and 4 centres in Andhra Pradesh. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) is responsible for conducting this online test.

Speaking on EAMCET’s move from paper-pencil to CBT, officials at the JNTU-H said that such a step had bee taken to do away with malpractices such as cheating and paper leak. In order to prevent this, question papers along with results have also been encrypted with various levels of authentication process. The CBT method also eliminates loss of time which was earlier spent bubbling the right answers.

This way, the confidentiality will be maintained. Prof Yadaiah also said that more safeguarding features such as biometric and photo capture at the exam centres will help prevent impersonation. To prepare the students for the online test, computer-based tests (CBT) will be held on April 19 and 20. EAMCET 2018 chairman A. Venugopal Reddy and convenor T. Yadaiah said that the hall tickets for the same could be downloaded from eamcet.tsche.ac.in website. An app, TSCHE myCET  has also been launched which can be used by students to take down real-time notification on the exam, take mock tests and much more. Students may download the app for added advantage.

Apart from taking steps to ensure foolproof conduct of EAMCET 2018, various measures were taken to facilitate the students so that they do not face any trouble. From making provisions for uninterrupted power supply to running special buses so that students reach on time in their examination centres, officials have taken note of almost everything.
