In the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 12th Examination 2017, around 65% of the 12.4 lakh students flunked this year. Sheezan Nezami of TOI stated that, “Politicians, bureaucrats and teachers are responsible for the poor state of our state.” Last year, Rubi Rai, alleged topper of Bihar Board exam answered ridiculously in an interview. This year, the arts topper Ganesh Kumar was no less than Rubi Rai. The students and teachers are not only to blame here. Instead, the education system is ailing. The people responsible for the ailing system are politicians, principals, bureaucrats and teachers of government schools.

The solution to cure the ailing system is to appoint efficient teachers. It has been noticed that many teachers in the government schools cannot even speak properly. The recruitment of teachers should be done in the way Kendriya Vidyalaya or Navodya Vidyalaya recruits teachers by means of written test and interview conducted amidst high security. In addition to that, the management of intermediate schools should be managed by the retired vice-chancellors. The politicians as well as bureaucrats should be kept off the functioning of colleges as well as schools. Teachers used to skip classes and take irregular leaves in schools as complaint by students. Students should raise voices against such teachers. Ever the parents of students should lodge a complaint against such teachers. Teachers do not attend classes but their full attendance is marked. There are loopholes in the system but no one bothers.
