New Delhi, March 28: After reports of CBSE’s Class X Maths and Class XII Economics question paper leak surfaced, the board has announced that it will conduct re-examination for the above subjects and the date for the same would be declared within a week’s time. The details of the re-examination would soon be put up on the board’s official website www.cbse.nic.in. The Class X Mathematics examination was held on March 28, today while the Class XII Economics exam was conducted on March 26, Monday.
Reports were doing rounds that a hand written question paper of the Class XII Economics paper had been circulating on Whatsapp a day prior to the examination. When it was tallied, several questions were found to be same as that to the paper which circulated on the social messaging platform.
In a statement released by the board on March 28, Wednesday, it said, the Board has noticed certain misdemeanors in the conduct of certain examinations. It further said that keeping in mind, the student’s best interest and also to uphold the sanctity of the board examinations, CBSE would re-conduct examination in the following subjects- Class XII Economics and Class X Mathematics.
Nearly 28 lakh students are taking the Class X and Class XII board exams this year. The re-examination is also in lieu of the CBSE guidelines which states that if a paper is leaked and the same is proved then the board has to re-conduct the exam. There were similar rumours doing rounds regarding the business and accounts paper as well but CBSE has brushed aside these rumours.
