New Delhi, April 9: To fill the vacant seats in the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Schools, the Directorate of Education (DoE) calls for ‘First-cum-First’ admission. According to media reports, the first cum first admission guidelines will be applicable only for Nursery to class 5.

The decision has been taken to fill all the seats lying vacant under the academic session 2018-19 in Sarvodaya Schools. The Directorate has also issued the notice to all the schools to impose the new guidelines and admit the students according to the new guidelines.

Under the ‘First-cum-First’ admissions, the student who lives within a distance of 3 km from the school will only get admission. The school will also set an age limit for each class from Nursery to class 5. To get their child admitted to the school parents should carry certain documents such as birth certificate, a passport size photograph and one address proof.

The information regarding the first cum first admission will be available in the respected school’s principal office or in the notice board or in the entrance gate of the school premise.

The result for the Delhi government schools for which the process was started on March 4 also released recently on April 5. In the admission list, around 4,798 students were selected and nearly 1300 students have been placed on waiting list for the nursery classes in a total of 156 Delhi Government schools. The admission list of KG also released. There are a total of 414 Schools that provide KG. As per reports, closely 19,180 applications were received for 24,280 seats and 16,908 have been allotted seats. About 124 schools had opened for Class 1 with a number of 5400 seats.  For 5400 seats, a total of 6,538 candidates applied and 4431 students have been granted admission.
