Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University formerly known as Agra University has declared the session 2015-16 and the varsity is having major irregularities. It is one of the oldest institutions in Uttar Pradesh. Very soon the university is going to organise a convocation ceremony and in one such weird case, a third-year law student is shortlisted for three medals, which the student will receive during the ceremony. The convocation ceremony is going to be held on December 3, 2016. The student is getting three medals because she scored 1,055 marks out of 900 in law course.
The name of the student is Neetu Kumari and she passed law third year examination in the year 2015 from Agra College. She scored 2,173 marks out of 2,800 in her LLB course with 77.6% marks. Neetu has been shortlisted for three medals in different categories. Shockingly, she scored more than maximum marks in the second year. Her mark sheet was uploaded on the university’s website i.e.www.dbrau.org.in. She was awarded 1,055 marks out of 900, which is unbelievable. She also received 150 extra marks in aggregate.
Even when the university administration was preparing the medal list, they failed to spot the marks. University officials analysed her result on the basis of a complaint, after which, amendments were made in the medal list. As per the revised result, Neetu got 1,660 marks in LLB. Another new topper from the Agra University is Priyanka Sharma, she is also an LLB third year student. She will be receiving two medals in the convocation ceremony.
K N Singh the University registrar said that “It is a calculation mistake, which took place at the level of private agency hired to prepare results. We are making suitable amendments. Now, another student of Agra College is the highest scorer, with 2009 marks.”
Though, Agra University has got many other notable alumni such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Raj Babbar, Manoj Kumar and many more.
