The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting the Clerk Prelims Exam 2016 on December 3 and 4. This will be the last session for the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2016. In the first two slots of the exam, 10 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of the total 24 lakh candidates who had applied for the exam. The level of difficulty of questions was moderate in the first two slots, i.e. on November 26 and 27. A total of 100 questions were asked in the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2016 and the questions were in objective form. English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning comprised of 30, 35 and 35 questions respectively.

Candidates avoided guess work in the exam as 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates are required to score the minimum cut-off in each section in order to qualify the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2016. In the slot conducted on November 26, questions were easier in comparison to previous year’s prelims exam. Topics from which the questions were asked in English Language section include reading comprehension, error detection and cloze test. Topics from which the questions were asked in Numerical (Quant) section included Data Interpretation, Simplification, Number Series, and Language problems. Topics from which the questions were asked in Reasoning sections included Puzzles, Inequality, Sitting Arrangement, Series and various other topics. In the Reasoning section of IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2016 asked in previous sessions, there was one set based on seating arrangement and 2 questions based on puzzles.

In the Quantitative Aptitude section, the questions from Simplification, Number Series, Data Interpretation were included. In the English Language section, fillers were not asked this time. Questions asked in Data Interpretation were challenging this year. Candidates should keep the admit card and a valid ID proof along with them so that they could furnish the same at the time of exam whenever required. Candidates should also carry the photocopy of the ID proof along with the original. Candidates are advised to reach the exam venue on time. Candidates reaching late at the exam center will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Instructions mentioned in the call letter should be carefully read. Barred items should not be carried in the exam center. If a candidate indulges into any unfair activity during the exam, he/she will be disqualified from the exam. Consequently his/her candidature will be cancelled by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
