New Delhi, Mar 28: Karnataka Pre University Examination (PUC II), 2018, results are expected to be announced by April 30. The Department of Pre-University Education conducts the PUC II examination every year to admit students into two year pre-university courses. According to the department, around 10 lakh students, after passing class 10, enroll in the 2 year pre-university courses every year.

This year, the examinations were held from March 1 to March 17 and 6,90,000 students took the examination.

More than 3,700 students were not allowed to appear for the examination this year due to attendance lower than mandatory. They have been permitted to appear in the next year’s board examination, as per a board official.

The department of Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka, is responsible for implementation of higher secondary education in the state. The Department of PUE functions under the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Government of Karnataka.

Department of PUE offers courses which come broadly under the following categories; Humanities (Arts), Science & Commerce. A total of 23 subjects are taught. Education in 11 languages is provided under the department with 50 combinations in the pre-university curriculum.
